Too much of a tight game for comfort. NW nearly made a game winning 3 as time expires.

      • Dereyago.

I'm kinda wondering if Beilein should work somebody else into the rotation. Brooks is fine. Hopefully gets more comfortable taking shots. Livers is a great 6th man, but one backup for all three wing spots is rough. We've yet to see a Simpson/Brooks/Poole lineup either, if I'm not mistaken. There's Davis for spot minutes at the 5 when needed, and Castleton really is slight. I'm thinking it might be good to get Johns ready.

        • Yep. These next 3 weeks neeed to be spent on working in some reserves.

          • Sheesh. That was high impact stress. Well, hack -- you got your wish, lol.

I'll take the W. On to the next.

            • It's December. If you can't handle this you have a lot of work to do by March...

                    • No challenging road games until we go to Wisconsin. It's going to take a pretty big upset for us to not start 17-0.

                      Second half was brutal.

                      • Good example of how just a few key plays changes the game when you have two good defenses. Beilein made the right adjustment to stop Pardon, but Law got hot and kept them in it, and our guys weren't going to be as dialled in on D as they were for UNC, Nova, Purdue. Made a few plays at the end though.

I'm going to try to get up to that game at the Kohl Centre. My brother's moved to Milwaukee, and I'm due for a visit.

                        • It's pretty stunning to think how good the freshman kid is. Good gosh, man. Brazdeikis (a true freshman!) has really been the best player on the team, and this is a team that was in the national title game a season ago and is now top five nationally.

We all heard about how good he could possibly be -- but there can't be a soul on earth who thought he'd be THIS good, this fast.

                          • Also, I want to shout out Eli Brooks, too. Kid had a rough year last season. Fell completely out of the rotation. And while he's still not playing a ton, he has been a very quality contributor when he has been on the floor. That three he drained last night was a big shot. Heck they were all big shots down the stretch.

                            • Re 17-0... There will be games where no shot can find the inside of the bucket and/or where the opponent can't miss. B1G is pretty good too, not many elite teams but deep in tournament, top 50 teams. One seed is a very realistic goal and will make for a much easier path in March.

                              • Yeah, winning the B1G even with 3-4 losses might still be good enough for a #1 this season.
