  • Go ahead and take a year off to rehab, young man. You will still be sorely needed in 2018 and 2019, if you can play.

    • Enough esoteric philosophy. Heres some football talk.

This came from an mgoboard link. It gives a lot of insight into who Harbaugh is as an offensive strategist. If you've followed what he's done with M's offense, this link is really good.

First, it gives insight into the x's and o's of what we saw from the offense. Second, it's clear to me why the O sort of bogged down in the last 4 games. Harbaugh was simplifing things, probably out of necessity, and the simpler things got, the easier that O was to defend.

Jets offensive coordinator John Morton is a bit of an open book. He doesn't have a lot of experience running an offense. He has, however, worked under a number of big name offensive minds. This is...

      • Well, in their final 4 games, they played the 2 best teams and defenses on their schedule. They also played a game in a blizzard w/ their backup QB. Finally, they played a road game at night against a decent defense with a DT that M's interior OL apparently had no chance of blocking.

M's offense also "bogged down" against Wisconsin. Coincidentally, the 3rd best team they played and maybe even the 2nd best defense. Meanwhile, it was unstoppable, literally, against Rutgers. Go figure.

Didn't read the article, so perhaps that's addressed.

        Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Read the article, it's not that simple. Sure, poor QB play was a factor but the run game sucked. Why? Nothing to do with the QB.

Like I said, read the article.

talent, you could argue as you have. But why the run game sucked has to do with the ability of the OL to understand what was going on and adapt to it. They weren't that good at doing that. So, JH didn't keep adding wrinkles to his run game to help keep defenses off balance because the OL wasn't getting the basic stuff down.

That nothing evolved when McDoom or Peppers got the ball is a good example of this and as the season wore on, defenses knew exactly what was coming.

Ther's a lot going on in JH 's run to pass offense and the article helps illuminate that.

              Broken record alert!...

You've still got to find a way to run the ball in those situations. God knows other teams have found a way to do it against us. Repeatedly. :-x

              • I don't agree that the offense bogged down against Wisconsin. Allen missed two field goals that would have given Michigan a pretty commanding lead by halftime. And, frankly, I don't know about the claim that the offense was bogged down against OSU. They were up 17-7 and moving the ball before things turned. And I don't think throwing out of your own end zone qualifies as simplifying the offense. You know what would have qualified? Maybe putting Peppers in the game somewhere other than Pepcat every fucking time. Decoy. Jet sweep. Anything else.

                But I'll read the article.

                • Offense did about as good as you'd expect against Wisconsin who was awfully good defensively last season. The game wasn't near as close as the final score, M left its share of points on the board and the Badgers weren't even a threat to put together more than a couple first downs.

Court records stated the incident occurred this morning and the warrant for his arrest was submitted just before 4:30 p.m.

                        • What does a college football playoff worthy schedule look like? Three seasons of data reveals some trends on how to set a schedule.

                          M's 2017 schedule doesn't fit.

II. Schedule your bye week for Week 6 or later.
IV. Schedule at least three consecutive home games.
VII. Schedule at least seven games at home.

                          Nope, nope and nope.

2018 schedule looks much more like the typical playoff team's

IX. Schedule a school from an power conference except the ACC

                            • Among other updates, the spring Of line is Cole, Bredeson, Kugler, Onwenu and JBB. I'd guess that holds u unless JBB can make a move over the summer to LT.
