The running game is a pile of maggot-infested monkey shit once again. Five years and counting where we are shitty at running the football. Year 2 of Harbaugh and absolutely nothing changed. We're back to the Lloyd Carr era of having no running game other than one end around/reverse per half. This is why we have lost 13 out of 15 to OSU, and why it will be 14 out of 16 at the end of this year. Anybody with a pulse can easily shut down our shitty predictable running game by packing the box and then blitzing on passes to prevent us from hitting deep balls. That's what Central Florida started doing at the start of the 2nd quarter, which is why Speight isn't hitting anything down field anymore and our offense stopped moving it. It takes a perfectly executed play where the RB makes four guys miss to get six yards. Out of all of our tailback carries in the first half, we had one -- exactly one -- where the runner wasn't hit within three yards of the LOS. Pathetic.

This team has a long way to go to fulfill all the high expectations. I expected to see more dominance along the offensive LOS. Also not impressed so far with the running game. An awful lot of hype about Evans after last week but only so-so thus far today. OTOH, Speight looks pretty smooth in the pocket and we sure some weapons at WR and TE.

Maybe just a predictable let down after last week and I'm confident JH will attend to areas of weakness, esp. in the OL and the running game.

UCF has 8-9 in the box when M has 1-2 WR's, going to be very difficult to run if we continue to try to run.

EVERYONE has 8-9 men in the box against us. Everyone. That is why perfectly executed running plays go for 2 yards. That is why two tight ends and a fullback doesn't fucking work. It's why Lloyd's running game never worked against anyone with a pulse.

Hanni doesn't care even if there are 11 in the box, Harbaugh is supposed to fix it all with Hoke/funk's OL. I don't think it is bad we are still trying to run it with the loaded fronts... We have reasonably big lead, why not have our OL get more experience dealing with loaded boxes.

Still, though. I'd like to see a better running game. UCF wants to stop the run, but you want to see the OL controlling the LOS.

The yards per carry for the rbs are embarrassing. Glad for the excellent special teams play or this game would be a lot closer.
