So, in AL, Yanks are pretty sure to finish #1 and Guardos are #2. Orioles are very likely to be top wildcard. That means the Central division free-for-all is for the final two spots where you either get Houston then Cleveland or Baltimore then Yankees. In a short series, I think I'd prefer Baltimore because they don't have any killer starters. But, then I'd prefer Cleveland over the Yankees because the Guardos lineup is very capable of a scoring 2 runs in a 3 games.

Baltimore has Corbin Burnes is the likely CY runner up.; he is going to get a 200+ million contract in FA. An absolute stud.

The Athletics are playing their final game in Oakland today. I've always hated that putrid franchise with a white hot intensity but it is still a little sad when a longtime franchise leaves for greener pastures. Good on the City of Oakland, though, for not caving to the taxpayer-funded stadium scam.

Most of the time I would agree with you, Mike, but Oakland has devolved into a crime-infested cesspool with the charm of Mogadishu. They really shoulda bounced sooner.

In the end they lasted slightly longer in Oakland than they did in Philadelphia.

Thinking about the AL Central again and I sometimes forget that the Tigers were in the AL East for four years.

I went to an A's-Indians game in Oakland back in the early 2000s. That was the Moneyball/Giambi era and they were regularly making the playoffs. Still had a terrible crowd that night. The stadium itself is one of the last relics of the 60s/70s featureless bowl stadiums that were built to handle multiple sports. I don't know if much changed over the past 20 years but back then there was nothing to do immediately around the stadium. Just endless parking lots. Nowhere close to downtown.
