Biebs dealt the moribund Tigers some harsh justice last night.
The Tribe is looking modestly good for the future. They're trying out some decent young kids in lots of spots. And, for reasons unbeknownst to nearly all, Jose really likes Cleveland and gave them a huge discount to stay. They actually may have a really strong core lineup in a year or two. I doubt they can re-sign Biebs, but the pitching should be ok, too.
And, as noted, the Central is hot fucking garbage. There's zero way any Central team can beat both the Astros and Yankees and I'm fairly certain they're looking at extremely long odds to even beat one of them in a best of 5. Hell, any of the Central teams is likely to lose the WC to whatever East team they have to play.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Yeah they are set up nicely for the future at least...if anything's been consistent over the past nearly-20 years they've developed good pitching so losing Biebs isn't a disaster either. We've lost so many Cy Young winners since 2005 I've lost count. And other than Sabathia I don't think very many of them went on to do very much for their bigger market teams.

Tigers owner Chris Ilitch fired GM Al Avila on Wednesday.
It was about 2 years later than it should have been. Avila was a nice enough guy, but it was apparent long before this season that his team building skills are not among the better minds in MLB baseball.
It'd be nice if Ilitch would make an effort to grab Theo Epstein. If they're serious about contending again, that's the kind of guy they need."in order to lead America you must love America"

MLB released its schedule for 2023 and a lot of people will probably hate it. They are increasing interleague play by a LOT at the expense of divisional play. Every team will supposedly play at least one series against all the other 29 teams.

Screw the National League. We'll should only see you in spring training, the All-Star Game and W.S.
How about visiting the teams in the other divisions of your league more than once a season?
