  • The Yankees pussyed out when Cabrera came up with a chance to get 3,000 with runners on 2nd and 3rd.

The "great" Yankess intentionally walked Cabrera.

They were lustily booed by everyone at Comerica. Well justified.

Well, there were runners on 2nd and 3rd with two out, lefty pitching and lefty coming up after Cabrera. Walking him was pretty standard strategy. Actually, I was glad they showed him respect.

        • It was the correct strategy, but I was there and the booing was top notch

          • Pretty impressive. I'm not as good with the alltime stats as I used to be. A decade plus of only being a casual fan of the game overall will do that to you.

For example, talking about Miggy made me look at the 3,000 club and if I ever knew that Adrian Beltre's career stats were that good, I've completely forgotten. Over 3,100 hits, 477 HR, and #25 alltime in RBI. Played 21 years but was an All-Star only 4 times.

            • Booing the Yankees is always appropriate.

Just like disrespect for OSU. Always appropriate.

Just like reminding The Wizard that he does not possess the strength to sire a male child.

              Always appropriate.

Beltre is one the most underrated players in the history of the game. Best defensive 3rd baseman I saw. Playing on the west coast and being a quiet guy does not help to get All Star appearances.
A combination of outrageous offensive statistics and defensive prowess had Mike Schmidt calling him the greatest ever. On Tuesday, Beltre retired.

                    • The Braves woke up on June 1st with a record of 23-27. They have now won 14-straight to have a record of 37-27 on June 15th. It ties their longest win streak in franchise history.

                      Pretty amazing.

The Indians hold the longest win streak in modern baseball at 22 back in 2017. The Yankees hold the longest in baseball history (26, back in 1916).

Actually, it's the New York Giants, not Yankees.

                        • I am sure you are correct. I was going off of memory after listening to the Braves’ Post Game where they mentioned it.

                          • Heard on the radio this morning that during their 14 game winning streak, the Braves have hit the same number of homers as the Tigers have all season: 31.

                            • I was hoping that the Tigers would at least finish with 80 - 81 wins this year. I don't think that's happening.

31? Geez that sounds abysmal but then I thought about it and Cleveland is no different but for Jose Ramirez
