I am not sure what you expected.when the new guy gets hired after a historic implosion on offensive side.. And questions on pitching side.

And I know you and other fans answer is just to spend. If they are not spending they are not trying. I didn't expect much -this offseason- from Harris. It is not only how much Harris has to spend but where he should spend.

This season was always going to be, after last season, about questions being answered one way or another.

    1) Do Greene and Torkelson take the next steps (Greene establishing himself as an above average CFer and Tork into being a legit 1b starter)

    2) How do Rogers, Turnbull, Wentz, Skubal and Meadows look coming back from injuries? Where is Mize in his TJ rehab?

    3) Did Lange lock down the closer role going forward? If not did someone else do so?

    4) Did guys like Schoop, Baez, Baddoo and Erod bounce back from awful years? Did Baez and Erod do enough that they will opt out?

    5) Did guys like Maton. Carpenter and Vierling cement themselves as lineup regulars heading into 2024?

    6) did guys like Reese Olson, Malloy, Parker Meadows continue their prospect development? Are they legit factors for 2024?
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

Olson is good and a great teammate. Offensively, I would rather have Freddie back. Olson’s OPS is a bit of a step down from Freeman’s.

      • Nightmare first inning for Shuster. Everything that could go wrong did. 4 earned runs allowed in the opening frame. Settled down and pitched well for another 3.2 innings.

They got outscored 21-3 in the opening series. They were no hit today for the first 6 frames racking up 12 strikeouts. 14 Ks over the game.

Last year's offense wasn't an offensive implosion, an implosion would indicate that there were high expectations. There wasn't, they sucked.

Of course my answer is to spend, when your farm can't produce you have to spend. For years you have been saying the farm is going to produce, it hasn't, they have been terrible. The off season might have been the worst in Tiger history.

It's to the point in which I'm waiting for the Lions training camp to start.

Historically, I'd be patiently waiting for the Tigers spring training to start, and the Red Wings and Pistons to make the playoffs while not expecting much from the Lions outside of the Barry years.

How things have changed since then!!

It used to be. The late 60's and early 70's Tigers were good. And the Tigers regularly drew 2 million to the old Tiger Stadium. Tiger fans will come out if the team is winning.

The Pistons at one time had the longest sellout streak in the NBA out at the Palace. RIP Bill Davidson. He cared about Detroit basketball. The new guy is a douche.

Mike Ilitch brought Lord Stanley's Cup to Detroit a few times, because he was willing to bring in hockey people and turn them loose. Fans sold out The Joe for years.

The Lions have sold out Ford Field when the Lions have sucked. I have no idea why.

                    • That said, the race between the Pistons and Tigers for worst team in Detroit will be intense. Pistons have set a very strong benchmark. Currently at 16 wins. Lions finished with 9 -- in 61 fewer games (as of now). Now they gotta hope it's enough to win the Victor Sweepstakes,

                        • I reckon Liney -- or any other human being fool enough -- will be able to take in a Tigers game for about $10 + how ever much you need to drink and eat to endure 9 innings of AA baseball.

                          • Yeah, you might as well just buy the cheapest ticket available then sit wherever the hell you want. A beer will be more expensive than admission and that's not hyperbole.

                            • It's a tough call on Pistons or Tigers as the worst. The Pistons might finish it out as the worst Pistons team of all time. But the Tigers look like they have what it takes to challenge the 2003 team.
