        • Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Avery, and Merker starting.

Wohlers closing with Greg McMichael, Steve Bedrosian, Brad Clontz, Pedro Borbon, Jason Schmidt, Alejandro Pena, and Mike Stanton getting most of the middle work.

The greatest bullpen of all time. Remember it fondly. But it’s more than 25 years ago now. Sigh…

            • Yeah, no doubt it was usually October underperformance. And you really have to leave a lot of that at Bobby Cox’ feet. He over managed so much. Double switches without rhyme or reason and he loved to pull a hot reliever after one batter so that he could pinch hit Rafael Belliard and his .500 OPS.

              • ...but he wasn't to blame for the Lonnie Smith debacle...but he shoulda pulled a page from Lou Brown when Wohlers threw a changeup to Jim Fucking Leyritz in 1996.

                ...give him the heater...

                • The Braves, after spending the year languishing at the middle (or worse) of the NL East, are now -somehow- in sole possession of first place.

                    • Yeah, we miss Acuna. Definitely been snakebit with crazy injuries.

And, really, I don’t have my hopes up, but at least there is viewing interest. I mean, the ways the Braves can blow this over the next month should be fascinating.

                          • Our next two series are the Fish and Orioles. Two bad clubs. Expecting to go .500 in those games.
