Skubal drops his ERA to 2.39. Chris Sale leads MLB at 2.38. Both pitchers will likely win the triple crown of their respective leagues and probably be unanimous Cy Young winners.

Can we now say that its a good thing that the Tigers didn't trade away Skubal for "picks" and a position player before the deadline?

The Flaherty trade is paying big dividends right now. Trey Sweeney has been a 1 WAR player in 31 games, Javy was a -1.1 WAR player in 80 games

The only way Skubal was ever going to get traded was for a historic overpayment.

Skubal will obviously win Cy Young, but Clase has been stupid good. I’m not sure a closer will ever win another Cy Young in the advanced stats era, but there isn’t anyone remotely close to him in the AL.

Guardos bullpen is why that team is inexplicably gonna get a bye.
