    • Obie played 8 years with the Cards...only four in ATL...

      • He would bat cleanup for the Tigers this year.

        And he's 67 years-old!

As Billy Beane would look over to Peter Bond... why... he can get on base. Obie would get 80 walks a year and hit .270 and play pretty good defense so he was a starter for a long ti.e.

Well, as a kid growing up in the cable 80's, the Cubbies on WGN and Braves on Ted Turner's TBS were on all the time so you got to know those teams. The Reds and the A's were the best teams of the 70's.

              • Plucky Braves beat the Twins. Probably better baserunning from the Braves tonight as compared to win Gant decided to step off first base when Hrbek had the ball.

Guardians rally to beat the game Royals as The Justice delivers a clutch 9th inning double to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

And AA misses re-reading The Sound and the Fury.

                • Of less interest, Ohtani was 3 for 3 with 2 HRs while pitching 6.1 with 10Ks, 4 hits and 1 R. Which is nice, but the dongs were only solo shots, so, meh. Do better.

Iffen you meant "Hrbek forced Gant off the base with his fat arse then tagged him" you would be accurate.

                    • Herbie played the game clean and fair. Gant wasn't thinking. And then Lonnie Smith decided to stop running and see where the ball was. Bad baserunning. Tough, but deserved loss for the Braves.

                              • Yeah, there's no disputing Gant was off the base. Why he decided it wasn't a good idea to be on the base is anyone's guess.
