      • Leicester would bite your arm off to have 22 draws to go with the 8 wins. They wouldn't be in this predicament.

Multiple sources say Bert Eugene Neff Jr. placed wagers that raised suspicion before an Alabama-LSU baseball game on April 28 and ultimately led to dismissals within two college baseball programs.

              • The University of Alabama girls’ softball team beat Northwestern in the Super Regionals to advance to the Women’s College World Series.

They’ll face Tennessee in the opening round.

                • Alabama baseball gets to host one of the 16 regionals in the NCAA.

In all, half of the 16 regionals are hosted by SEC teams. To go with those 8 teams, two other non-hosting SEC teams are in the tourney, for a total of 10.

                      • College baseball and softball is a southern and western sport. Northern and other cold weather teams don't get a home game until late March, and many games end up being cancelled due to weather. Southern teams start in late February, and rarely miss a game due to weather.

If NCAA Baseball and Softball regular seasons stared in mid-April, and went thru June like they should, the northern (cold weather) teams would be more competitive.

                        • The problem with that is they try to finish it up pretty close to the end of the spring semester. There usually aren’t many college sports in the summer. It comes from full time school traditionally being fall and spring semester with many having summers off.
