  • I saw they know the suspicious bet was placed at the Sportsbook at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati. What made the bet "suspicious"? Just its size? The Reds have been out of town...I wonder if they think someone in the Reds organization placed the bet? Bohannon maybe has a friend who works for them? Just very odd.

      • Our hoops coach never harbored a criminal. He kicked him off the team immediately.

        • Just saw that PA is halting betting on Tide baseball now too. Ohio, NJ, and PA. And at least one article did say that the bet WAS an unusually large sum of money for someone in Ohio to be placing on Bama baseball games.

            • Wiz,

First: Brandon Miller dropped a friend off, went to dinner, and came back to pick him up later. He never touched a gun and there is no evidence that he saw the text. He returned to pick him up when he said he would after he left the restaurant and before the text from Miles. I dont get texts while driving. I have no reason to believe Miller did either.

Second: But even if he had, If you left your gun in my car and texted me that you needed to get your gun back from my car, I doubt I would assume, “Wow, Wiz is about to get in a gun battle!” Who knows, maybe I should consider that?

Third: The DA has said repeatedly that Brandon Miller committed no crime. Miles (the Bama player kicked off the team) told his friend (Davis) where the gun was hidden. The gun battle ensued shortly after.

Finally: It will be interesting how the trial pans out. Both Miles and Davis have plead not guilty/self defense. The whole shootout is video taped and it appears that Miles’ friend (Davis) did not fire first. This week, the Tuscaloosa DA subpoenaed Cedric Johnson (the one who was in a gun battle with Davis who apparently/possibly fired first). If Cedric Johnson did indeed shoot first, I would assume that it strengthens Miles and Davis’ claims of self defense. IANAL though.

                • Nietzsche is indeed dead, but it has nothing to do with the invisible man living in the sky.

                  • I think I’m channeling Carlin with the above quote:

Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!

1st, I was not protesting, I was educating. And handing out facts the way other teams have handed Nebraska football L’s for more than a decade.

2nd, you sorta misused Shakespeare’s meaning of that quote in Hamlet. It was used to mean that Queen Gertrude believed that the character in the play she was watching used unbelievable, overwrought attestations of love. The line was used by Shakespeare to illustrate how fickle woman often are.
