I think one thing that the Group of 5 teams try to find is a coach that will be committed to that program and is a good coach. It is easier said than done, however as these, for most coaches, are not destination jobs. They are stepping stones to getting a job in a better conference. You can't blame the coaches for that, but it makes it tough for lesser teams to build a program and sustain it.Originally posted by AlabamAlum View Post
An example of this is App State. They are on their third coach in the past 5 years. They lost Satterfield to Louisville, had Drinkwitz for one year before he moved on to Missouri and now have Shawn Clark. Clark is an App alum and it is his dream job. If he had his choice, he would probably stay there for the rest of his life, but... he is a step down from the last two coaches. They have stability, but not the quality that they had. Their record over the last couple of years reflects this.
