Yes, we play SoMiss games in two weeks. We play Florida this week. Why would a game against a CUSA team week after next be “looming large” for Bama when we play @Florida this week? I have no idea what you are talking about, Liney.
Harm? I did not think you intended harm. Anyway. SoMiss in two weeks is not a concern. Playing Florida this week, however, is one with dire consequences if we play like we did yesterday.
Also, I do not sob and I do not drink orange juice. I am just a simple purveyor of truth and wisdom."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

@Florida will give us absolute fits. Bryce isn’t a top 10 QB like we’ve enjoyed with Mac and Tua the last several years. The offensive line allows pressure and hurries way too often and Bryce isn’t handling that well. The Bears’ D only sacked Bryce twice, but Mercer’s (MERCER’S!) pressure was constant. The play calling wasn’t crisp or well thought out. I am not sure first year OC Bill O’Brien is a great hire. And, like I’ve said, we have a weak DC.
Speaking of Bama’s Defense: Mercer threw for 168 yards, had 13 first downs, and scored 14. It would be one thing if we had played one of the Dakota schools or Southern Illinois or whoever, but Mercer is (as I have said) not even a good 1-AA team."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Also: Alabama’s offense was held to 41. The other 7 points came from a bobbled punt we blocked and ran in.
We won the second half against Mercer by a score of 17-14.
Fred Payton (the Mercer QB) ended up with a higher QBR than Bryce the NIL millionaire.
I am not saying things are dire, but things are absolutely dire. Hear me now and believe me later (nod to the old SNL skit of Hans and Franz)."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

And Bama opens as a 15.5 point fav.
Take Florida and the points. This is easy money.
Other SEC lines of note:
-Penn State is a 6.5 favorite at home vs Auburn.
-Memphis is a 3-point dog at home vs Miss State.
-Ole Miss -14 vs Tulane.
-Stanford -11.5 at Vandy.
-Georgia -30 at home vs SoCar.

Georgia is that good, and yeah, the Cocks played with an equipment manager at QB the last two weeks.
Shutting Clemson’s O down week one and then this week they just bludgeoned a scrappy UAB team, 56-7."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln
