Wallace "Wally Walnuts" Butts, possibly Georgia's greatest coach ever, was going to spill the beans to the Sat Evening Post on Alabama's cheating ways. Know what happened to Wally Butts?
No one knows. He "disappeared" on a hunting trip to the Okefenokee Swamp. The "Bear" then sent two dozen high-priced New York City lawyers after the Post and that was the end of America's greatest investigative journal.

Netflix really needs to do a documentary on the fixed games scandal back in the 60's SEC. One of the nation's great unsolved crimes. The ringleader was known only as "Mr. B", but they could never pin down his identity. The only clue was a houndstooth hat and an empty bag of Golden Flake potato chips found in Wally Butts' car after he went missing.
They barf out enough 'true crime" documentaries, do one on this!!!!

About a month ago the 4 schools announced they'd be leaving in 2022 and the league basically told them "you can't quit, you're FIRED". Central Arkansas is also leaving but heading to the Atlantic Sun instead
So yeah...the future of Southland football definitely thrown into doubt. They'll only have six teams now and two of them were in Div II not very long ago.
Feb. 21—February football, anyone? The New Mexico State University football team will take a stab at something completely different Sunday, taking on Tarleton State at the Sun Bowl in El Paso. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. It's a long-awaited moment for the Aggies, who did not participate in fall football because of the coronavirus pandemic. It's the first of two spring games for NMSU, which will ...
