  • Two more things. First, I guess I forget that UAT's track record in hiring coaches is mostly miss and occasionally hit. So, I guess a coach-in-waiting may make sense. Of course, when UAT hits, they really hit. Second, please let Dr. Michigan know that seats are filling up aboard the SS Ohio State if he should so wish to cheer on his conference against you and your Warlord God.

    • I would say more hit than miss.

Going back to the dawn of time and from memory:

I liked Fran and think he would have done well if he had stayed. Stallings was good. Perkins and Curry were better than most realize. Pollard, Xen Scott, Thomas Kelly, Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas, Paul Bryant, and Saban were/are all good to great. Shula and Dubose were horrible. Whitworth was horrible. In the years that Bama has had football, we’ve had many more years with a good coach than with a bad coach. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be the greatest team historically in all of college football.

                  • Alabama’s string of double-digit win seasons continue: 13 straight double-digit and 10 straight of 11 wins or more.

                    Gonna miss Saban.

Also, with the win over Notre Dame, Saban ties “Dr.” Tommie in career wins. And the shame is he was robbed of 5 wins for the bullshit book loan punishment in his first year at Bama.

                    • The streak is in real jeopardy next year, though. We lose a fuckton of offense. Mac, Najee, Devonta, the Oline, Forestall...well, everyone. Gonna struggle to get 10 in 2021. 2022 should be back to normal, though.

                      • The double-digit win thing is just unprecedented. We started this streak with Bush 43 in the White House. It’s continued through Obama x2, Trump, and has a chance to go past Biden’s first year. If it makes it into 2022 (2023 at the latest) we will surely be in Harris’ first year.

                        • Yeah. Fucking Year of Fickell hosed Ohio State. And, I gues the B10's Covid approach. But, from 2005 to current, pretty good. The 2004 team was the last legimiately mediocre Ohio State team under a real coach.

And even 2004 had the upside of sorting out the whole Justin Zwick or Troy Smith issue. And Tressel still beat M!

                          • Since The Nick was hired (and counting all games actually played and counting 2020):

                            1. UAT: 169-23
                            2. Ohio State: 156-25
                            3. Boise
                            4. Oklahoma: 149-37
                            5. Clemson: 152-40

Ohio State is probably close enough to UAT to call that a cluster. Oklahoma and Clemson are a cluster. And after that it falls off -- LSU, Georgia, Oregon, Wisconsin.

                            • Since 2007, Ohio State and UAT have lost 48 games combined -- soon to be 49.

                              Since 2007, M has lost 64 games.
