Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

        • I mean, a CFB game, a NFL game, and 4 MLB playoff games to switch back and forth on? Come on. That’s a great Thursday.

                    • Hey, AlabamAlum!

My wife and I are taking our son to Tuscaloosa Sunday night for a tour Monday morning. Where should we go to get some food and a drink or two?

                        • 5 Bar or the Avenue Pub (good pub food-can do a nice meal there- well crafted cocktails):

Hip restaurant with antique decor known for their five item menus featuring quality American cuisine, beer, wine & a full bar.

Hand-crafted food, local beer and fresh cocktails. Locations in Orange Beach and Tuscaloosa

                          College bars: Houndstooth, Gallette’s, Egan’s:

If you know of Tuscaloosa, you know someone whose got a story or two that took place in this one & only Locale. You can drive around the strip looking for a big flashy neon sign saying “ Gallette’s” you’ll be hard pressed to find it. This hole in the wall is hidden to outsiders […]

Nice upscale meal out, R. Davidson’s Chophouse (steak) or Chuck’s (fish). Both probably need reservations. I would have said Evangeline's, but they’re closed Sun/Mon.

Ribs: Archibald’s or Dreamland. Both are kinda dives, but fairly famous. Keith Jackson and Frank Broyle’s used to take part of every game broadcast from Tuscaloosa and talk about Dreamland.

Probably Dreamland. Weather will be bad. Archibald’s only has outdoor seating.

                          • CG, if there is something specific that I didn’t list, let me know. Also, I assume you have a hotel. I like the Embassy Suites. Walking distance to several places I named, and very close to campus.

                            • And the Embassy Suites is value added with the free booze/snacks in the evening at manager’s reception and the free breakfast in the morning. Not sure how Covid has affected both of those things, though.

Thanks. I think my wife was looking at the Embassy. Have a dreamland in Mobile. 5 bar and Avenue look like good options for Sunday night if they are open

Tour is at 10 on Monday, so we'll head back home after lunch.
