If the SEC, ACC and B12 decide to play then fuck the B1G and UNL should go play elsewhere...aka the Big 12...and if the high and mighty B1G say no...fuck them. This is absolute bullshit.

Everyone will eventually cancel. The media controls the message and they want it all cancelled. University Presidents listen to the media, not spots fans. The backlash against this idiocy will be completely silenced and the coaches like Harbaugh won't throw their employers under the bus.

No, this is strictly a CYA driven, nonsensical decision intended to avoid the certain legal and PR fallout attendant to an outbreak that could be connected to a football program.
BT presidents talk about protecting student athletes then do something like this. Their collective actions have harmed the student athletes they claim to want to protect, collegiate athletics and the huge revenue that is produced by them that enables so much for so many.
Fuck all of them.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

There is nothing that makes any sense of this. Having in person learning in a school that canceled its sports programs is immaterial. I don't think they are comparable...... and I believe playing CFB presents a much lower risk than in person learning given the infection control and hygiene measures implemented BT program wide.
The presidents are okay with bankrupting athletics, but they realize that reducing tuition on distance classes during this has become an expectation, and it allows the student to opt out of student facility fees and campus dining plans (which the university gets a cut of). Likewise, transitioning a didactic to on-line/distance requires work and infrastructure which costs money, too.

My incredulity is based on the fact that you have risk mitigation/CYA for one activity with students but no push for risk mitigation/CYA for an arguably riskier activity (in-person didactics). It’s misguided at best and wildly hypocritical at worst; and regardless, this hurts not only the student athlete, but lessens the college experience for the entire student body.

I know for an absolute fact that the Alabama AD plans on playing. I’m not worrying about Greg changing his mind. At all.
The president, Dr. Bell, is a huge football fan, but we’re not close. He is a nuclear engineer from TAMU and very much a numbers guy. I think he is smart and can look at the risk ratio fairly. Him and the UA BOT are on the side of playing, but they don’t want to be in some “we’re playing minority.” The BigTen and PAC-12 cancelling hurt. But if the three remaining P5 conferences stand strong, I think we will have football.
The plan for spring only works if ever to cancels, and then it’s kinda far fetched. If the P3 plays, I can’t see how it happens for the opt-out 2."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln
