The Big12 is supposedly meeting tonight if no one mentioned that
I imagine they kinda sink or swim on what the state of Texas wants and how bad they think the outbreak is still going to be in 3 weeks.
Wouldn't surprise me if a few SEC Presidents would secretly like to cancel right now but need cover to do so. Thinking Florida, Georgia, maybe Vanderbilt. Prob same goes for some ACC teams.
The other thing about the various conferences pussying out is that they are establishing a “reasonable standard of care” in terms of negligence. Should something happen and the remaining schools get sued, then they’ll have a difficult time arguing that they didn’t consciously disregard a known risk or that their actions weren’t unreasonable.
I think with the B10/P12 out it makes it harder for the other 3 to play. I hope they do, but if I had to bet I’d bet on CYA and irrational fear.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.
Supposedly the BigXII has a vote and have elected to keep going. At least for now. The three no votes were surprisingly Kansas, TCU, and Oklahoma. That’s the scuttlebutt, anyway.
