ND has had many opportunities to join the Big Ten and has ran away every time.
They don't want to play a tough schedule like that every year. They want to be able to pick and choose their opponents so they can fatten up on TV revenues.

I'll jump in here with some ND hate too. When, with conference realignment and the CFB play-off thing was happening, NDs interest in joining a conference, any conference, was fine with me. I loved the idea of seeing them get beat-up by playing a full season against solid teams.
That the then play-off committee allowed those fucking Catholics to have a seat at the play-off table without having to get through the gauntlet of a conference championship game, I was enraged. I've always intensely disliked Swarbrick ..... a slime ball if there ever was one. You know his history with the BT and the sundry other money grubbing or look the other way shit he's pulled in "Jesus' name we pray.
So, yeah, fuck ND ..... a little less hard than osu but just as deep and as painfully.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.Comment
