Tua was at the game. Good seeing him in that 13 jersey on the sideline.

Hating on the $EC - Mostly Alabama (and a little Georgia too)

Mississippi State's playing Abilene Christian. Kentucky's playing UT-Martin. The SEC is the only league that regularly schedules these sorts of games the week before rivalry week. It hasn't hurt the league in any way so far, as best I can tell, so I don't see that changing.

100% agree with this. It just looks bad. Perceptions are important when it comes down to hair-spltting for the CFP ...... and surely the SEC doesn't want it's currently vary favorable considerations for play-off spots impaired in any way.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

It's less about the CFP and more about the fans. As long as the overall SOS is okay, and there is no more than 1 loss, we will have a shot. But no one wants to see 1987 Mike Tyson fight 2019 Richard Simmons."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Alabama's "tradition" of playing a shitball team the week before Auburn began in 2007.
For most of the 90's Alabama played Mississippi State that week and then for a few years was playing LSU-Auburn back-to-back
Nick came in and said enough of that shit. I want a tomato can that week and I want all road non-conference games cancelled. Well, except for Duke, we'll still do that one.

Nick arrived in January 2007. The schedule was set for the next 3 years or so before he arrived. I think he would have had the AD change it after that, but Auburn started doing the same.
And honestly, it worked. He's won 5 NCs at Bama.

Many are predicting Bama vs Baylor or Oklahoma in the Sugar.
Wouldn't mind Baylor, but I would grow weary of hearing about Hurts and Tua and having the former beat Bama with the inevitable "you picked the wrong QB" storyline."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

And, honestly, I am okay with it. No matter who we played - Clemson, Ohio State, or LSU - they would would eat our lunch. No joy in that. Give me a previous year's D or magically heal Tua and okay. This team? Nah. Need to play someone in our orbit. Baylor, Oregon, Utah, Michigan, etc."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln
