I have to laugh though at "Nurse Betty," actually a Nurse Practitioner, insisting on using the Dr. thing in front of their names. This was always a controversial use of the title Dr. by the medical community that are ACTUALLY Medical Doctors.
But at the state and national level, NP Associations have uniformly thumbed their noses at them. That's because state licensing boards allow NPs to practice independently and potentially invade MD turf. They don't like this but Nurse Betty's don't give a shit and it seems patients very often don't either preferring to see mid-levels (NPs and PAs) rather than MDs because, you know, NPs and PAs actually listen to their patients.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished.
