Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season

Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

          • Chess does have an overtime. That does not preclude a draw, though.

            • It would preclude a draw if it were actually a sudden death trial by battle overtime. Choose your fucking weapon and lock the steel cage.

              • Magnus would kill (literally) Fabi in a battle overtime. I would order the PPV, though.

                • Can we just skip the blitz games? I mean, before we have to endure the ignominy of one of these two patzers playing the Scotch game?

                  • The Scotch Game and the Scotch Gambit are both excellent openings, philistine.

                    • The tie breaks in a World Championship match are always a bit crazy. In this one, the rules are if it gets down to sudden death, 5 minutes for white, 4 minutes for black, time increment of 3 seconds after move 60 AND if drawn, black wins. Crazy stuff. Would love to see it.

                        • Nice article on Saban's 1968 HS championship.

Nick Saban won his first title, at West Virginia's Monongah High. His teammates remember a determined, cerebral leader who always thought three steps ahead. Sound familiar?

                          • so 5minutes each move for white 4 minutes each move for black
time increment of 3 seconds after move 60
what does that mean--what if you don't move within 3 seconds you forefeit?

is it only one game or do both get 1 game apiece as black and white
