Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

  • I have been posting with Talent for 20 years now on various boards. DSL, Entropy, Wiz, linesman, and a few others 10-15 years. When Worldcrossing imploded, I followed some of the above over here.

      • I miss Worldcrossing, it had some crazy boards over there.

        • Of the BigTenners, I miss RegelBuck, Old Scribe/BG, MarkVII, MojoSpartan, and Wildcat00, maybe a few more.

On the old boards, Tennessee and Nebraska had the most posters. Game threads were hundreds of pages long.

Okay, I am rambling. Gonna go fix a metamucil.

            • CNNSI was a blast. Worldcrossing was fun, too. It was a nice "ecosystem", with the except of Team Val, Team Husker, All ACC fans, and UK basketball fans.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
              Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

              • Say something bad about the Vals or Huskers and it was like a bat signal went off. Within minutes you had 30 posters trying to argue you down. I would say something, let them go on, and just leave. Come back hours later and they were still arguing. It was great.

Talent and I used to conquer dormant team threads. When the odd fan would show up and try to reclaim it, it was just a blast.

Cereal wars were fun. Some idiot started posting a bunch of porn - or people got mad at trolls and would message the sysops (and call peoples' bosses) so they put up a filter. No profanity or pics. I discovered if you put an empty html bracket in a word, it got around the filter (fuc<b></b>king); you could post profanity. I convinced people I was a secret mod when they asked how I could post profanity. And then, of course, people started messaging me with problems. I told one guy who messaged me with a tech problem that he needed to format C: to fix his problem. I have no idea if he did it, but I know I was suspended for two weeks after that.

Just a lot of wasted hours.

                • How come your not reminiscing about that Marty guy? Or was that Wiz's buddy?

                  • Marty was funny. I still think it was a troll job.

Hey man, just curious: How did you end up here? I mean I think it's great, you've obviously been a great contributor to this board -- but I'm just kinda curious how an Alabama fan ends up at a Michigan board of all places lol
