Again, disagree. Alabama is a better team. One loss. #6 Auburn on the road. The same loss Georgia has.
They want the best team. That's why they did not make the conference championship a requirement."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Sure, it's a consideration - just like how many losses, how you lost, good wins, and a full review of stats.
I strongly disagree that it should be a requirement. We will never agree on this. And that's okay. It's academic, anyway. Auburn lost, so, Ohio State will jump Bama from #8 to #4.
As an aside, Ohio State was the first non-confernce champion to get in and now they will be the first two-loss team to get it. BUCKEYE MAGIC!"The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

What's funny is, FSU-West Coast is better than FSU-East Coast. No one woulda thunk that when Florida State was a top 5 team heading into the season."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Personally, dislike the "Goliath of college football" (Alabama) as much as anyone, but Bama is better than USC.
Wins vs:
- FSU. With Francois, they are a better team. How did Clemson do this season with their backup QB? Oh yea, lose to Syracuse. Losing a starting QB can hurt. Look at the NFL with the Texans and Packers losing their starting QBs. Kills a season.
- Miss St. Nick Fitzgerald still starting.
- LSU. Hey now, Troy is the Sun Belt champ? They are always a talented squad.
- Fresno St. They are in a close game vs Boise St to win MW. Boise St nearly beat WSU.
- Overall style points of how they beat Arkansas, Tennessee, Vandy...
Close loss on the road at Auburn > losses on the road at ND, at WSU.
But yes, USC got an extra game to beat Stanford.
End of the day, if you have to bet $1,000 on Bama vs USC at a neutral field with no spread... you'd pick Bama.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill
