They did a 30-for-30 on Bernie and Ernie. Gonna have to break down and watch it.
Since we are going down memory lane, I remember watching LSU play Bama in 1970, my first real Bama basketball memory. Pete Marovich set an NCAA single-game scoring record with 70 points (or something close) but Bama won 104-102 (or close). Then Pistol Pete tried to fight (followed by half the LSU team) a Bama fan in the stands because of some comments the fan made as Marovich made his way to the locker room. CM Newton was the Bama coach and actually took Pete's side (which upset Bama fans, like my father). No one ever reported what the fan said, but I would love to know. That had to be some weapons-grade thermonuclear sass."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

70 points? He must have taken 85 shots. Ol' Press Maravich wasn't particularly big on long possessions.
In 1981 I was rooting for LSU in the FF. I hated UNC. I hated Ralph Sampson. I didn't hate IU, yet. But, for some reason I really liked Durand Macklin even though I'd never seen him play. I think it was mostly an early glimpse of haughty sports snobbery -- none of my friends in Ohio had the first clue who he was -- "He's 1st-team All-American, Duh."
2nd half of that game didn't go to well for me.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

He shot 57 times from the field, hit 26 of those (.456) and was 17-21 from the stripe for 69 (not 70) points.

Now on to this year: I want to get excited but I will restrain my exuberance. Last month, Bama did a tour of Canada -CANADA!- and played 3 canuk universities in 4 days and only went 2-1. We beat McGill by 39 and University of Ottawa by 10, but some university named Carleton University ran us out of their gym, winning 84-71.
You lose to a Canadian team by double-digits (everyone knows Canadians know nothing of any sport not named hockey or curling), and it doesn't bode well for the boys wearing crimson in the dog-eat-dog SEC."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln
