The reporter made the assumption, and Nick ran with it. You know he does this as a shell game, correct? He controls the narrative and where the eyes focus. It's genius. But yeah, he comes across as a dick.

He didn't make an assumption. He asked if that is what it signaled.
It wasn't a bad question. A simple "No we hired the best coach for the position and our team" would have sufficed. Instead he rambles on about how the NCAA is unfair and everything else that is wrong with society. He tried to use it to make a point that had nothing to do with the question.
No genius is involved here.
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

No. His question was something close to 'Given how the national champion game transpired with the time of possession deficit how much was returning to a ball control mentality with the hiring of Brian Danilo?'
I know. I listened to the conference live. My memory is usually pretty good. From a manipulation standpoint and getting the media to talk about this as opposed to something of substance, it was pure genius.

Auburn's football program changed players' grades to secure eligibility, offered money to potential NFL draft picks to return for their senior seasons and violated recruiting rules under former coach Gene Chizik, according to a report by Selena Roberts.

Grammar... The difference between feeling your nuts and feeling you're nuts.
Fun stuff to read but, that's all it is...........
It's a big nothing burger unless through some coincidence the FBI is watching dirty money and a portion of it flowed into the hands of an Auburn payee who then passed it to a player.
That's the only way you could potentially arm-twist somebody into sworn testimony that could implicate the program and even that would be hard.
The NCAA can't do dick and Auburn officials will pay due lip service to it knowing damn well there's no way that shit is going to stick on Chizick and then bubble up to implicate the school.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
