Well, we out-game planned Kirby. Sent him reeling. Early, anyway. We scored a TD with more than 12 minutes left in the second quarter to go up 28-0 and didn’t score another TD until 2:18 left in the 4th.
Up 30-7 at the half and had to intercept a ball in the endzone to hold on. We could not stop them, at all, the second half.
Georgia is a better team, but kudos to DeBoer for that masterful game plan to start the game.Last edited by AlabamAlum; September 29, 2024, 08:26 AM."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

It was a great night for sports:
Alabama won.
Kirby lost.
Braves won.
Mets lost.
Auburn lost.
It doesn’t get much better than this. At least in the regular season.

Third one will be the one that really matters.
Unfortunately, I can now see Ohio State drawing Georgia in the first round -- if CRD somehow falls assbackwards into the playoffs. JFC. What a disaster.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Bama still has 2 losses left this season despite yesterday’s miracle. We are looking at being in a central Florida “also-ran” bowl at year’s end.
Next up: We go to Nashville to play Vandy. Vandy is much improved. This year, they beat VaTech, and should have beaten Mizzou on the road in CoMo. It took three consecutive controversial calls by the stripes to give Mizzou the 30-27 2OT win.
Bama is banged up and emotionally drained. This is a classic trap game."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

One of the better college football games that I can remember. Of course it would be reminiscent of 2019 LSU @ Alabama.
Highly entertaining night. Reinforces the idea that the CFP format should be 8 teams because this game would have a little more meaning. 12 team format? Who cares about the end result. Either team can lose 3 games and will probably make it.

For a kid who's supposed to be a top NFL draft pick in 2025, he doesn't look any more competent as a passer in this game than Michigan's QBs have this season. Alabama deserves much of the credit for that, but Beck is misfiring even when he has time. He's looked rattled ever since his best throw of the game got dropped on Georgia's opening possession.
Beck’s style. His body composition. One minute he looks like trash. Then can catch fire. Flacco was famous for the “Flacco is elite” meme. Legit because Flacco was elite during their Super Bowl run.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

Honestly, Talent, Georgia has a hard slate. They have Texas and Tennessee left (as well as at an embarrassed Ole Miss). They could conceivably be 9-3 at year’s end and very likely (hopefully?) not make the SECCG or the CFP.
That’s what I’m hoping for, anyway.Last edited by AlabamAlum; September 29, 2024, 10:47 AM."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

12 teams in a 5+7:
5 auto bids (4 to Power Conferences, 1 to G5)
That leaves us the 7 at-large.
So, for the sake of argument, let’s say Texas, Ohio State, Miami, and BYU get the “power” autobids (BYU as a BigXII still seems wrong) and James Madison (SBC) get the G5 auto bid.
That leaves Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, Mizzou, Michigan, USC, Notre Dame, Clemson, Utah, LSU, and a few others fighting for a at-large spot.
Would the committee take a 9-3 Georgia over a 10-2 Oregon (for example) for the 7th at-large? Let’s hope not. Those bastards need to go to some shitty also-ran consultation prize bowl.
