Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season

Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

    • S FL wet bulb temps have been over the low 100s for weeks. At least there is almost always a breeze. But, even the shade is uncomfortable and evening outdoor activities unbearably humid. We stay mostly indoors at home or in air conditioned venues. My yard has gotten overgrown with weeds due to neglect. It's too hot, even in the early morning to be out there gardening.

Just returned from a cruise that visited the Canadian ports of Halifax, St. John, Sydney and Quebec. Relatively cool and dry weather except Quebec where it was drizzly with a high of 62! Light jacket conditions. Still, not down on my retirement location selection of S FL. I knew exactly what I was getting into the months of July through mid September as I spent time there during these hot months before we bought a home having been warned to make sure I wanted to put up with that. Other times, the wx is great and that would be basically 180 to 270 days out of 360.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

When dew point is greater than 77, it’s an emergency. Shade doesn’t matter. Hydration doesn’t matter. You just can’t get cool. Body doesn’t sweat enough. Heat kills more people than tornadoes, floods, cold, hurricanes.

Kind of a mild summer actually

A dew point of 51 is very comfortable, even with higher temps.

                            • You don’t choose where you’re born, and while the fortunate can move, the poor have no choice and often don’t have a decent, working AC.

Not sure why you are shitting on poor people, Liney.
