  • Fall is upon us quickly this year it seems.

As Mr. AA noted, CFB season opens in 17 days. Here in Shiawassee County Michigan, school starts tomorrow. HS football kicks off next Friday.

And sandbagging here is in midseason form ..

      • HS football starts this Friday in Nebraska liney...I'll be observing for the State Association again. I thought about throwing my hat in to either the MWC or Pac12 ring for Supervising officials but my health isn't up to the extensive travel that requires. I can handle some trips thru the state...I really enjoy staying close to the game. Have some pretty major prostate and kidney issues right now so need to stay closer to home. Are you still officiating?

        • drink lots of water

take your flomax and dont let them biopsy your prostate every year like they want to--and if you ever get prostate cancer get about 5 opinions before you agree to any surgery or radiation/chemotherapy
prostate cancer is the most overtreated where cure is worse then putting up with the disease there is

finasteride helps shrink prostates and increase flow.

high blood pressure and diabetes kills kidneys as a whole

obstruction of kidneys (hydronephroses) by prostates its time for rotorooter

HTH now STFU and get well

          • Already had prostate surgery. Biopsy was negative so no cancer but it was elarged about 6x normal. They did a scoop and grab of the prostate and now I can pee and hit a stop sign. They have kept me on finasteride as a precaution and still taking flomax as well as blood pressure medicine. Unfortunately when my prostate was so enlarged for so long my bladder could not empty and I suffered major kidney damage which is what I am monitoring now. They hope my numbers come down enough where dialysis is not needed but could be. Kidney transplant is also a possibility. I've been going to Omaha for the last 8 months for treatments. The surgery was a robotic one...not as invasive as the normal surgery.

            • Damn, I hope the kidney numbers fall for you and your kidneys recover as much as possible.

Hey, take care of your health first, man. Sports will take care of itself.

Unfortunately, I had to give up officiating about 2 seasons ago, right before the pandemic kicked in.. I have arthritis in both knees and my left hip, and I cannot run at all. I can't stand for long periods of time either, so that eliminates Volleyball officiating too. I really miss officiating, especially HS football. I'm going half-crazy right now because my mind is telling me its time to get out and work some scrimmages. I really, REALLY wish I could. I loved Friday night football.

Sounds like you're doing all the right things in treating your health. Best wishes to you, my friend.

                          • Thanks liney. I miss being on the field but observing officials I do enjoy. Between my hip issues and now this the on field is over for...since 2018 actually. I'll know more here soon on the kidneys...I go in for bloodwork next week then visit the Nephrologist shortly after.

                            • Be well, asshat. Fortunately, you have 12 games of Husker football coming up, and that’s good for pretty much anything that ails you.
