While paying players can now be forgiven, fixing games is still a no-no for the sport to have credibility. The Bear's reputation, therefore, cannot be rehabilitated.

We're heading for a rapidly changing landscape if this is true...Texas and Oklahoma have reportedly reached out to the SEC about joining. The real article is in the Houston newspaper and behind a paywall so I can't share.

It’s a move that would bring in more $$$ for Texas, Oklahoma. Won’t affect championship aspirations because of the 12 team playoff that seems inevitable in the near future.
So even if Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, A&M, etc beat up on each other in the regular season, chances are most of these teams still make the playoffs.
Super conferences are bound to happen. $$$$$$$AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

Four 16 team conferences has been inevitable for a long time. The Big 12 has been the wounded animal and the more prosperous conferences have been picking them apart for years. They've lost Nebraska to the Big Ten, Missouri and aTm to the SEC and Colorado to the PAC. They're down to 2 name brands and a bunch of crap. Texas and Oklahoma WILL leave. There is no doubt about that. Kudos to the SEC for scooping them up and solidifying their 16 team league.
Reports are that next week both Texas and Oklahoma will notify the Big 12 of their intention to not renew their media rights past the current contract which expires in 2025. As soon as that happens, the big 12 is effectively over and the remaining programs start searching for life rafts. That also means the Big Ten needs to add 2 more programs to get to 16 and they better start soon. The Rutgers addition just gets worse and worse over time.
Assuming the next, and possibly final, round of conference realignment is upon us, who do you guys think the Big Ten should try to add? Your personal preference and what you think is realistic.
Notre Dame is an obvious option but they might just join the ACC on a permanent basis instead. If that happens... I mean shit... West Virginia, Okie State? The pickings get pretty slim. Iowa State? FFS.

Notre Dame football would go to the ACC first IMO. Join their other sports programs in the ACC. They appear to be stubborn about staying independent though.
I mean, maybe the B10 COULD go after ND... it would be a ballsy move. Somewhat doubt it.
Instead the B10 will end up with mighty Iowa State and West Virginia. Woohoo!AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill
