  • With the reasoning behind Pruitt being fired, I doubt Tennessee goes after Hugh Freeze.
Maybe Coastal Carolina's HC is worth a shot? Wouldn't be too thrilled, but he has more upside than some of the other names out there.
LOL at the Adam Gase idea for next Tennessee HC. That would be a dumpster fire.

    • Given the rationale for Pruitt's firing, I'd think Jamey Chadwell is off the board for Tennessee, too. He's got some fairly significant NCAA violations in his past from his time at Charleston Southern. I certainly don't know what Tennessee will do, but I'd imagine they'll be looking for someone with Power 5 and/or NFL experience. That's the typical profile for them, anyway, but this is going to be an especially critical hire. Winning the press conference is going to matter here.

      • Tennessee is a not good program with no real path to success. There was a brief window when anyone could win the East, and Mizzou did. But, ya gotta be legit now.

          • JRB,

Tennessee is having financial issues, but they wanted him gone. This way, they assume they will be able to renege on all or at least a substantial part of what they owe. And there are some staff that certainly broke serious rules, but nothing tied to Pruitt (at least yet) allegedly. Hilariously, the university hasn't completed its own investigation yet, and the president didn’t even review Pruitt’s interview transcript. And that gave the interim job to a guy who has been there a week (Steele). lol.

The whole thing is lovely. Tennessee may never beat Alabama again. Banner day. I may have a scotch to celebrate.

Hey Wiz:.. I just came back home after seeing my new ophthalmologist for the first time. She was born and raised in Nebraska.

I had to resist the urge to run out of her office screaming for help, but I held it in. Turns out, she's not so bad.

                        • It’s reported that somebody associated with Tennessee gave McDonald’s bag with cash in them (literal bagmen).

If true (1) wildly sloppy and (2) what a shitty ROI.

                          • UTK is an embarrassment to the SEC in so many ways. Granted, UTK is generally an embarrassment to humanity and some of that brings shame to the SEC. But, truly, their amateurish shenanigans and grossly overstated sense of self are just downright shameful and must get Brigadier Sankey's dander up something fierce.

                            • LOL of course. College football...
I’m all for college athletes being paid. It’s just unfair for parity reasons when you have a few programs pay players like that.

Reminds me of what an ex-coworker (big OSU fan) of mine said about Ohio State when I worked in Cincinnati out of college. Ohio State or big money donors (“bag men”) allegedly have certain business (car rental shop for example) where some of their football players are employed. They are being paid a salary for doing no work. Don’t have to show up or anything.
