And I agree re Mac Jones and his stats and all that. It's just highlights how stupid this year is when Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence aren't even in the same conversation as Pick-6 Jones Mac and Trask.

The true genius of SECESPN will be to use Florida's loss to a shitty LSU JV team as PROOF of their argument that Ohio State shouldn't get in -- "See, if team that is vastly superior to Ohio State can get upset by a JV team, then OSU surely would have lost if they played Illinois and Maryland!"
Or, perhaps they turn toward aTm.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

I don’t think that’s a real issue. Even though OSU’s half sched and some defensive breakdown are talking points with the Finebaum/Cowherd/Rome/Gameday crowd, the Committee has consistently put the noxious nuts in the top 4. With a nice win vs NW, they’re in."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

And TAMU, imo, is the only other SEC team with a chance. Florida threw the shoe and the playoff away last night. But, personally, I don’t put much stock in the Aggies’ chances.
TAMU will argue that they only lost to Bama and are therefore deserving. But that was a 28 point loss that was honestly more like a 35 point loss or worse. It was 35-14 at half and Saban pulled starters and went into TresselBall mode."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Alabama’s MOV through 10 games:
1. Kentucky, 60 points
2. Arkansas, 49 points
3. MissState, 41 points
4. LSU, 38 points
5. Tennessee, 31 points
6. Auburn, 29 points
7. Texas A&M, 28 points
8. Missouri, 19 points
9. Georgia, 17 points
10. Ole Miss, 15 points
Again, not sure many woulda had the Fighting Kiffins giving us our narrowest victory through 10 games.

aTm's loss to UAT is particularly valuable because that's exactly who aTm would play. We've seen that game. There's no way aTm is any higher than 4th and there's not much of a chance UAT loses to Mullen.
In any event, the thing I find most odd about this whole argument is that there's a concession -- "well, sure, Ohio State is one of the four best teams" and it's followed by this BUT -- "but, they didn't play Illinois, Maryland and M!" (3 shitball teams). I know talking heads gotta talking head, but it's a remarkably stupid argument even by Finebaum standards.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Last season, Ohio State's closest games were 11, 13 and then 24. They then promptly obliterated Clemson in the first half, failed to convert multiple TD opportunities, lost a key player on ridiculous "by the book" targeting sack that had killed the drive; Clemson scored a TD after that penalty; and then had a TD taken off the board b/c the WR did not "catch" the ball despite take 3 steps with possession.
So, F CFB. That is all.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Now onto Florida. Inexcusable loss last night. The Gators had 609 yards of total offense. They passed at will. But three crucial turnovers, a missed FG, and some mind blowing major penalties (throwing an opponent’s fucking shoe?), gave the Corndogs the upset. We won’t be that lucky. Plus, Kyle Pitts will be back. He missed the game yesterday due to being banged up.
I expect a close, high scoring game. Our D is not good. Their D isn’t great either. It will be whichever offense blinks first late in the game."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

I wonder -- when was the last time anyone, anywhere thought a win over Illinois or Maryland meant something? LOL.
Well, there and Fox Sports studios. You'd have thought yesterday that they lost their best friend while talking about M not playing OSU. Michigan is a "name" win only. Beating Michigan now IS the equivalent of beating Illinois or Maryland.
It's not a big deal. And its not going to be for years to come."in order to lead America you must love America"

John Tally on Mullen. Heh:
