  • Not that it matters at this point, according to Patrick's source, the Big Ten presidents voted, 12-2, to not play this fall. Patrick said only Nebraska and Iowa voted to play. I really only go on Twittter and here for football and chirp in once in a while on other subjects when sports is slow or the off season. I don't see games until fall 2021 at the earliest (possibly not even then).

Let see if the NFL plays games on Saturday (if they play)

    • Iowa and Nebraska could do a one-year contract in the BigXII if they wanted, but it would be pure chaos.

      • Anyway, if the BigTen and PAC-12 are out, I hear the SEC will still play as long as the BigXII and ACC do (in other words, if a simple majority of P5 schools elect to play). If the ACC and/or the BigXII cancel, so will the SEC.
I really, really hope there's those 3 conference spite the B10/P12. It's such fucking bullshit.

God yes. There's no reason to not play the games. It's not dangerous for the kids.

          • I'm not surprised at all with the Big president's votes. These guys are the ones you see dressed up in their stupid 15th century academic regalia at graduation ceremonies who don't know shit about the real world only the walled academic castles they live in. Never mind the data does not support bailing on college sports or, for that matter, not conducting in-person learning at the institutions they direct.

This has to be the most fucked up I've seen American leadership and decision making in my lifetime and, for me, it's not just the stupid decision making on opening schools, playing sports or any of the other flash point venues you might want to add to the list. The fear is palpable. The PRC should be taking note and I'm certain they are.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

            • It's unfathomable. I mean, fucking unfathomable. Right about now I wish PDJT had pushed for a complete lockdown and provoked a backlash from the Media and Left. If they were on the other side of this thing we're not in this spot.

              Whatever. It's a fucking disgrace.

              • One interesting data point will be if the BigXII, SEC, and ACC play and the BigTen and PAC-12 don’t would be to look at the percent of positives cases the two groups have and see how not playing affected total case load vs playing.

I personally think going to class and then parties or to their neighborhood is as dangerous or even moreso than the bubble that being on a team can provide.

It would be even nice if the people in charge could look at the data and think for themselves an weigh the risks rationally.

                  • We went from "flatten the curve" to "nobody has contact with anyone else".

                    Talk about a bait-and-switch.

“Blame this on people going to the beach and not wearing masks.”

If you say “the beach? What about the riots?” You’re a racist.
