Heavyweight world titleholder Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury fought to a split-decision draw Saturday night at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The judges scored the bout 115-111 for Wilder, 114-110 for Fury and 113-113.
Wilder knocked Fury down in Rounds 9 and 12.
Wilder (40-0-1, 39 KOs), who was making his eighth title defense, had previously knocked out every fighter he had faced.
Fury (27-0-1, 19 KOs) was coming off a pair of decision wins this summer following a hiatus of two and a half years, during which he vacated the WBO and WBA belts he claimed in a November 2015 decision victory over then unified world champion Wladmir Klitschko.
In a competitive fight in which Tyson Fury was nearly knocked out in the 12th round, Deontay Wilder retained his heavyweight belt after a split draw Saturday.

The last three times we have played Georgia in Atlanta, Georgia has had a double-digit second-half lead and Bama roared back and won. Once for entry to the 2018 CFP, once for the 2017 NC, and once for a ticket to the 2012 BCS title game.
I love that that has to be heartbreaking for Georgia.

That seems to be the prevailing wisdom despite all the dumb talk about UGA going ahead of OU. The committee cannot justify putting a 2 loss non-conference champion in over a 1 loss conference champ......that doesn't mean they won't do it.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
I hope Tua has lost the Heisman to the OU QB after playing poorly while hurt in the SECCG. First, great motivation for the Bama team this year; second, great motivation for Tua next year; third, the Heisman is a horseshit award.
