the 21 yard run for barrett tells me BS on the cameraman story

banging it against a cameraman is a bruise rub some dirt on it

he did something else either in the first half or third qtr 11 rushes for 65 yards in the first half doesn't sound like somebody who hurt his knee bad in pre game

According to reports, barrett had been dealing with a chronic injury to the meniscus. He wears a brace on his left knee but it was his right that was the issue in the game on Saturday.

Bracing protects against lateral (MCL, LCL weakness/previous injury) stress/movement and anterior/posterior (ACL/PCL weakness/injury) movement. It can also help stabilize a lax patella.

So, he's fiddling around with his right knee cap on the sidelines. A bruise to the patella can be painful. When he went down before he went out, I couldn't see from the tackle and going down any apparent mechanism of injury. He did whack his knee cap on the turf.

The whole thing is a bit weird vis-a-vis the right v. left knee. But for him to not play suggests something more than a bruise to bony structures in the knee occurred. Could be aggravation of something chronic in the R knee including previous meniscal injury, chronic patella laxity. Who knows. But staff kept him out and that is a sign that it wasn't just a boo boo.

I don't doubt anything meyer or barrett said about the camerman hitting his knee (with a cart?). There was never a suggestion of premeditation by either of them and that has been misrepresented by more than a few. What meyer was most pissed off about was himself not stepping up and telling someone to get people off his sideline as there were too many of them. I totally get that and he should have been pissed off.

The way it went down was U-G-L-Y, but I don't think Schiano was a good choice for them. They may still hire worse but you have to have some excitement in a hire. You can't have fans and supporters looking for the exits in year one.

You could see him putting his hand on it just before he went down on that play. Something happened on that play. Maybe it was exacerbated by the whap on the knee. Dunno.
