Oh wow. Okay.
The SEC decided to honor graduates with a patch.
The patch recognizes those athletes who have earned a degree while playing football at an SEC school. Making a patch that says "This football player has satisfactorily completed coursework required to earn a baccalaureate degree at a member school of the Southeastern Conference. He has now enrolled in graduate school and is working toward a master's degree while he continues to play football for another year" is a bit wordy.Last edited by AlabamAlum; August 13, 2017, 05:38 PM."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Oklahoma loses Perine, Mixon, Geno Lewis, and Westbrook - along with their headcoach. They will get assrailed by the Buckeyes and that combined with lack of a conference title game should keep them out of the playoffs even if they are able to beat the one other good team (@Okie State) and the two mediocre teams (@KState and Wva) they face.Last edited by AlabamAlum; August 15, 2017, 08:56 AM."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

If Oklahoma just loses at Ohio St and finishes 11-1, they will have a good shot. They made it in the 2015 Playoff like that. Yes, tough games at Oklahoma St, K-State, and even Texas.
They do return Mayfield, their entire o-line, and most of the D.
I'd probably pick the PAC12 this year over B12...AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

We have had 3 playoff years as history: 2014, 2015, and 2016.
So, 3 years with 4 teams each year.
Alabama 2014
Alabama 2015
Alabama 2016
Clemson 2015
Clemson 2016
Ohio State 2014
Ohio State 2016
Washington 2016
Michigan State 2015
Oklahoma 2015
Florida State 2014
Oregon 2014
Of those 12 teams, all 12 entered the playoffs undefeated or with only one loss. Only 2 of those 12 teams had a loss by more than 7 points in the regular season and both of those teams absolutely crushed their opponents in their CCGs: 2014 Ohio State beat Wisconsin, 59-0, in the B1G championship and 2016 Washington killed Colorado, 41-10, in the PAC-12 championship. And while Ohio State's and Washington's regular season loss was by more than 7, neither lost by more than two scores. They each suffered solid losses (by 14 and 13 points, respectively), but neither constituted blowouts.
So, no CCG, plus an assrailing by the Buckeyes makes it seem unlikely to me. Even if they were to beat Okie State, KState, WVa, and Texas. Which is very doubtful to me. If they do get in after being run off the field by the Buckeyes (with no CCG to make up for it), we would definitely be in uncharted water wrt the playoff selection.
Just my opinion. As always, your mileage may vary.Last edited by AlabamAlum; August 15, 2017, 10:17 AM."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

It'll take a 2-loss conference championship in one of the B1G, Pac 12 or ACC for Oklahoma to be in CFP."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln
