  • It depends on the word, the context, and the nuance you're shooting for. Sometimes, a longer word is called for.

I like the Mark Twain sentiment, though.

And you don't really apologize enough to be a true Canadian. I'm gonna have to see some papers.

      • Strunk & White, son. Just look at Wiz there. Used a 23-letter word, and nobody knows what he's talking about.

I am a dual citizen, which is why I don't apologize enough.

        • Good lord, Wiz. At some point I vaguely recall the Jolly Green Giant squaring off against something in some battle.

I remember my first posts on the M forum. I believe it was November 2001 shortly after Sparty's heroic 26-24 victory. I was banned. And later reinstated. Good times.

          • It is ironic that a citizen of the Conquered States of America is mocking our fair neighbors to the North.

            • Nick Sheridan was indeed vainglorious. He was a fucking walk on and had the vainglorious balls to step up and snatch the staring QB job in RR's first year in his attempt to install a Goddamn spread offense at Michigan! ........ MICHIGAN.

To bad that never worked out for that vainglorious bastard and Hoke came in to, well, fuck things up more than RR did.

Vainglorious ..... a marvelous word that yes, I was first to bring here. Late to the party AA.

              No surprise. Alabama.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

To be fair, it was before I was here (again). But I give you kudos. Most of your stuff is fairly monosyllabic. That's a nice change.

I'm gonna drive to Atlanta and buy you a greasy Vortex burger and the cheapest canned beer they have.

The best hamburger joint in Atlanta is the Varsity.

I'll take two cheese burgers, an order of onion rings and an Orange slushy.

...... and a side of Prilosec and 40mg of Atorvastatin.

                            • "Orange slushy"?

You call it a F.O. or nothing at all. Come correct, Jeff. Or pull up.

Vortex has beer. Varisity, not so much.

Froot is busy sticking pins in his 1998 Nick Saban Sparty action figure. He has no time for pithy commentary.
