  • AA you still have a crush on Lane?

Something is clearly not right with Kiffin's personality. Raiders boss called him a liar, left the Vols with fans in an uproar, fired at LAX and now fired before the NCG. 4 jobs in a row where his exit/firing has been less than professional.

I just dislike his mug. Rode on the coat-tails of his legendary father. Saban is a beast ... he got tired of Lane and "processed" him!

Got a feeling that Sark will be a guy that sticks around 1-2 years and bolts for a head coaching job as well if colleges will take him. Even though I don't like Kiffin, I hope the Bama offense flounders and even lose the game against Clemson ... bet Kiffin would be smiling then.

    • The CFB Post Season - the part from the end of bowl season to around February - is always entertaining.

It just came a bit early this season.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

A crush? If that means do I still like Lane, the answer is a resounding 'yes'. He has done superb work for us the last three years. We have won 26 straignt games and we are the defending national champions and are playing for another national championship. That doesn't happen by accident and Lane has been important in our success.

        • ....... but it seems you have to overlook some weird personality issues to "like" Lane Kiffen. If I've got it right, Nick wasn't willing to do that.

          No surprise there.

          • It's not what I would call a "personality issue".

He did a fine job for us. We're better because of his three years with us. The work he did with a converted running back (Blake Sims) and a FSU cast-off (Jake Coker) as well as winning with a true freshman QB has been amazing.

I wish him the best at FAU.

            • Bettors can't get enough of Clemson:

All of the Vegas action in the CFP semifinals was on Alabama and Clemson -- much to the chagrin of sportsbooks. David Purdum details the developments in his weekend gambling recap.

                • Apparently Vegas took a beating with Bama-U-Dub. Not many expected Bama to cover.

I did. Although the game made me nervous.

Wait what? They took a beating for Bama covering when not many people thought they would? They took a beating cause everyone knew they were gonna cover.

                      • Not many sharps or books did, though. The Bama money swing was all general public.

                        • From the article linked above:

The Tigers drubbed the Ohio State Buckeyes 31-0, and crushed sportsbooks in the process. So much money poured in on Clemson in the hours leading up to its semifinal showdown with Ohio State that the Tigers went from 2.5-point underdogs to 1-point favorites at the SuperBook.

"We got crushed, just crushed," Salmons said. "Every bet we wrote yesterday was Alabama and Clemson. Every bet, every parlay ... Alabama and Clemson."

"It was a bloodbath," MGM vice president of race and sports Jay Rood added. "No good."

Alabama advanced to its second straight championship game with a 24-7 win against the Washington Huskies on Saturday in the other College Football Playoff semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

The Huskies were as much as 17-point underdogs in the weeks leading up to the Peach Bowl and drew heavy support from sophisticated bettors, driving the line down to Alabama -13.5 by kickoff. On Thursday, the MGM had taken twice as much money on Washington as it had taken on the Crimson Tide.

But the betting public that showed up en masse during the New Year's weekend in Las Vegas sided with the Crimson Tide, overwhelming the money that the books accepted from professional players and handing the house a loss.

"We ended up with twice as much money written to Bama as we did Washington," Rood said.
