Illinois band with a credible version of Edgar Winter's Frankenstein. Michigan band discharges it's one bullet early with I Can't Turn You Loose, firing up the not-less-than 300 Michigan fans already packed in here. Heavy drama. We'll see where the battle of the bands goes from here.
I'm glad this is how I get to remember Derrick Walton. Can't remember a more frustrating kid having such a storybook ending halfway through his senior year.
Only so many opportunities to have my mother watch the kids so we can escape for a weekend. In retrospect I should have told my mother to come a week earlier, but, then again, today is her birthday. Alas, I'll be missing what looks like a fun and cheap game tomorrow. Paid $15 today for 200-level seats. Forum attendance responsibilities are now handed off to Oracle -- don't fuck this up ok? Let's come out with a 6 or 7 seed.
They are doubling the post so well right now. Absolutely bullied Morgan. Gonna be interesting if Swanigan can make them pay. Beilein will earn his keep as a tactician, no doubt.
Stuck around for a little bit of MSU/PSU. Conference-level takeaways:
1. Bridges didn't stand out live for that athleticism. Ward beastly.
2. Our band and cheerleaders fucking suck. Distant fourth behind Illinois, PSU and MSU. Our band nails I Can't Turn You Loose, and it's always great late in the second half, but otherwise, fuggit. I bet Illinois' band could play Hail to the Victors better than our band after just a little bit of practice.
Bit the bullet to secure tix before getting there, so I may have overpaid, but whatever. $113/ea for 20 rows behind Michigan bench. Let's hope it's worth it!
