  • Font is awful. IMO they messed up as much as you can mess up something that nobody wants changed. I'll get over it in time.

    • Harbaugh really loves the all road whites and the TV numbers have moved back from the side to the top of the shoulder. This I believe hasn't happened since Anthony Carter days (?)

Michigan Football: Michael Jordan Had Jim Harbaugh At ‘Hello’
          Chris Balas | Senior Editor
Michigan’s first step with the Nike Jordan Jumpman brand has been a huge success, and it appears there’s more to come. U-M head coach Jim Harbaugh said he’s open to other ideas and added it was a no-brainer when Michael Jordan called him and asked him to be the first and only football program to wear his brand.

Harbaugh knew on the second day of the job he wanted to go back with Nike. From there it got bigger and bigger.

“A month or two after that my son Jay, a younger guy at 26 or 27, said, ‘I think we should be Jordan,’” Harbaugh recalled. “I said, ‘great idea.’ It all went into motion, ended when Michael Jordan called me on the telephone and said they wanted us to be the first and only football school program in the world to be Jordan. I said, ‘you had me at hello.’

“We’ve been working for this for a very long time. It’s big. It’s big. We have a thing where we like to say, ‘who’s got it better than us?’ And the answer to that is ‘nobody,’ except possibly future us.”

It was also an affirmation, Harbaugh said, that Michigan’s ‘Leaders and Best’ mantra and ambition is working.

“We’re telling Jordan and the Jordan Brand, ‘who can have it better than to have you?’ Them wanting to have us, they are telling us they believe in us, as well,” Harbaugh said. “It’s a very mutual thing there. You see it. You just walk by the aisles here [at the unveiling at the Ford Piquette Plant in Detroit] and see the product they have, what else can you say? You just know it when you see it. It’s great.”

Harbaugh saw it on his players’ faces, too, when their ‘jaws dropped’ upon seeing the gear. Senior cornerback Jourdan Lewis was decked out head to toe at the event, including a backpack with the Jumpman logo.

Harbaugh said he was open to the idea of Jumpman khakis and – perhaps – even an alternate uniform.

“Yeah, why not?” he said of the pants. “Definitely. That would be wonderful. It would actually be taking it up another notch.

“I’ll definitely keep an open mind on [the alternate uniform]. They hit it out of the park here, and everything they’ve done up to this point has been hitting it out of the park and knocking our socks off. We’re not going to change the uniform design at this time, but we stand open to their ideas because some people just think of things better than other people do. They obviously do a tremendous job at the highest level, so sure, I’ll keep an open mind. I’d be dumb not to.”

His conversation with Jordan, meanwhile, was memorable.

“The other thing he told me that was very profound, he said, ‘you know what Nike means to Oregon, what Oregon means to Nike? Michigan will mean that to Jordan. That, I thought was powerful - very profound. But he had me at ‘hello’ in that conversation.

“This is first class all the way with a big exclamation on it. Today is another one of those days. You walk in and your socks are knocked off. You know it when you see it. This is great. Everybody knows something great when you see it. That’s been my impression. The greatest share [of success] is your effort and your talent and the work you put in, but as [his dad] Jack Harbaugh said, you are with whom you are associated … the highest level companies, brand, products. That just goes a ong with a principle we have and what we truly believe -- to be associated with greatness.

“To think about Michael Jordan sharing a sideline with us, think about being the only team, the University of Michigan, that is Jordan, to have that iconic logo sharing the uniform … we are very, very proud of that. I’m proud. We’re proud.“

          • The logo is of a guy dunking a basketball... On a football uniform. Interesting.
Michigan's uniforms were already great. This is just a modern touch to it.

No maze pants on the road unfortunately.

            • Jumpman is a brand of Nike. I have been wearing Jordan shoes for years and don't even think much about the jumpman beside I'm wearing the best shoes. Not all Nike shoe have the jumpman, mostly just the Air Jordan brand.

              • They're perfect. Especially with the gloves and cleats. The all white roadies are my favorite unis of all time and I love that they're sticking around.

                Agree big thumbs up!

                • Prefer the maize pants, but not a huge deal.

                  • I just want the team wearing the uniforms to win football games.

And not just preseason tomato cans.

Win big. Set the goal so high that their opponents will think they've lost their minds.

                    • They look exactly like last year's except for a different style number and a basketball player on it.

                      • Helmets, cleats, gloves, facemask are all different.

                        • I don't count shoes and gloves as part of the uniform. It all looks great to me but all I need is a blue jersey, maize pants, and wing tipped helmet. Check check check.

                          • I think what makes it perfect is the silhouette of the University of North Carolina basketball player on the M football jerseys.

Any truth to the rumor that the Bill Laimbeer logo jock straps are on back order?

                            • One thing I never liked was having the Michigan "M" logo on the front center of the helmet.
It looks tacky IMO and distracts me from the wing.

                              • I would have liked it on the Front of either the jersey or pants in place of one jumpman. Dave Brandon had the block M on the Back of the jersey over the players name?? , that for me was the most ridiculous potential permanent change ever.
