    • It's an oft-repeated meme by lazy sports journalists to the point it became considered fact over the years.

      • LLLLoyd used to throw in Henson in the 2nd no matter how well Brady was playing or the score.

        • That too.

          • That was my favorite Lloyd strategy.

            • fwiw Tom Brady showed up at the combine not remotely looking like a professional athlete. That might've hurt his draft stock as I always felt I was watching a 2nd-3rd round pick.

              • Tom Brady could give a shit less about how he was treated at M (Carr, the first and last time he caved to pressure from a players parental demands, not withstanding) or his draft status.

He's been incredibly successful in his life, certainly proud of his M football connection, and a terrific representative for the University of Michigan.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                • Seems to be in the past. Brady's been around the program plenty lately, and brings the enthusiasm we would want for it.

                  • Yeah, he hasn't held any grudges against the program. He's been very outspoken in his support for Michigan Football, and has been back on numerous occasions.

However, I would imagine that deep down, he still feels a bit of a sting around Lloyd Carr. Coach Carr's decision to appease Henson held Brady back at times when he should have been 'the man" at QB.

The biggest gripe that I have is that Carr's attempt at appeasement of Henson's ego still failed. He took the buckeye's money and ran. I still haven't forgiven him for that.

                    • You don't have to. Flunking out of baseball and losing out on being the first pick in the NFL draft was punishment enough.

                      • I would assume that the millions he received coming out of high school as a baseball prospect and the money he made playing baseball made up for much more than the "NFL draft punishment" he may have suffered and the "humiliation" of "flunking out of baseball"

                        • Steinbrenner (a Buckeye) gave him a pretty significant MLB contract to forgo his senior year.

                            • Expectations are way too high. This season isn't a failure if they split vs Sparty, OSU win 10 regular season games (1 other loss), win the B1G championship and go to a NY6 bowl.

How many times has M won 11+ games in the last twenty seasons?

                              • They aren't winning the East with 2 losses. The only way the BIG East champ doesn't make the CFP is if OSU loses to OU and wins the division at 7-1. The West champ is of no consequence. As for expected wins/losses, you must factor in our schedule which is among the easiest of all Power 5 teams. We'll be 7-0 heading to EL. Win there and we might come out #1 in the country at that point in the season.
