Thank you, all. I know this place well. Scholars and gentlemen, with a paltry few exceptions. And I've posted with some of these folks since the CNNSI days - which it pains me to admit is over 18 years.
The wam welcome is making me blush. Either that or I am flush with scotch.

John Storms and his family put on jaw-dropping light displays each winter, and this year Storms — who lives in Texas — paid tribute to the Alabama Crimson Tide’s Million Dollar Ba…

I can't fucking believe I've been posting since 1998 starting with CNNSI. Holy hell.
Yes, I still miss The Smithsonian.
Yeah. I started in December of 1997.
Remember us conquering unused threads on CNNSI like we were Cortez? Remember the cereal mascot wars with RU4FSU91? Cool Breeze? Finding a trick around the filter so we could post profanity? Sooo much time wasted.

When defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin left Michigan to become coach at Maryland, Chris Partridge moved from director of player personnel to linebackers coach for the bowl season.
But with the hiring of Brown as the new defensive coordinator, there currently is no room on the coaching staff for Partridge beyond the bowl.
Harbaugh said he very much would like to have Partridge on his coaching staff.
“He’s doing an amazing job,” Harbaugh said. “If I had another spot on the coaching staff then it would be Chris Partridge, I really have been that impressed with him as a coach.”
So there's no place for him back in recruiting? He's doing an 'amazing' job as LB coach but after the bowl game its hasta lavista? Perhaps he wants a permanent coaching job and Harbaugh is telegraphing a reference to the CFB world. Speaking about him in the past tense while he's still present tense is unusual. A cynic would say he's being told "you brought in the NJ guys we wanted, now hit the road'. Somebody know whats going on here?

Gary's not even in yet. It sure looks like he's more likely here than anywhere else, but...
Whatever's with this situation though, this kind of approach is more what we wanted. None of us want to go back to the days when Lloyd's coaching staff was a safe haven for over-the-hill mediocre coaches.
