  • The alarming thing -- and maybe it is a Hoke hangover, I don't know -- but more than one or two people knew that OSU would come in and play hard and be a very tough out at the very least. Same thing with MSU -- many thought it wouldn't be close, but these are rivalry games. AT THE VERY LEAST I expect Michigan to hold up its end of the bargain and be a tough out itself. The scheme failure is on the coaches, and the players knew quickly in the third quarter that they weren't going to win becuase on this day their game plan was bad, but the tackling is something the players have to take some blame for too. Worst tackling we've seen all year.

It's also a good example of a coach who puts the stake in the heart taking the game away from the opponent.

Finally, osu showed, for the first game this season, their championship form brought about a big talent advantage that played up to it today.
Yep, they were really motivated after last week. I'm sure Urban enjoyed sticking it to Jim after all the attention he (Harbaugh) received when it was Urban who won the NC. At least that's in the past.

Yeah, I have to remind myself that at the beginning of the season I would have been satisfied winning 7-8 games. Better days are indeed ahead but I don't think I have the patience to wait another 3-4 years for our next win against OSU. But I fear it may take this long for Harbaugh to catch up.

        • Really wasn't all that depressed by the way the offense played to be honest. Goes to show how fucking meaningless pregame stats and discussion are. M's offense and defense were both great in the red zone. OSU gets 2 TDs and we settle for a FG. Changes a lot of momentum early.

You'd think an adjustment would have been made. No avoiding one in the future, though. It shoudln't have come to this.

Agree. Way too many nickel and 3 man fronts.

Yes it is. Basically anyone that Michigan will ever recruit has never seen Michigan beat OSU.

                • That's just a great play by Joey Bosa. Maybe he should win the Heisman.

Agreed, I'm underwhelmed with Durkin. While I hesitate to say the defense "mailed it in", as you stated they didn't dig down deep. Feels like resignation.

Yeah. Credit due for what was done before, but getting nailed by the read option today is not something you can ignore or shrug your shoulder over. You can't say Durkin wasn't warned. Harbaugh too, frankly, bears responsibility.

In the end, I could live with it easier if the tackling weren't so incredibly awful.

                            • Third year in a row they've scored 42 on us. Also, what they scored in 2006 and 2008.

                              • I called exactly this game. No surprises for me. Our only chance was if O-state had won last week. Game against Indiana showed us how we were against the run without Glasgow... was this really unexpected??
