If anyone's unclear about what the expectations for Michigan SHOULD HAVE been, this game makes it pretty damn clear. Two starters down, two walkons and Beilfeldt in the rotation, and we're in position here to steal a big one one the road. Pretty clear that a team at full strength and not lazy on defense would have been a very solid team, would have been in line for a 12-6/13-5 type conference schedule, and a top-4 seed in the tournament.
After 'Nova, Michigan really punted on its non-conference schedule. It's a shame it took the destruction of expectations to get Beilein to start junking it up on D and to get the players to really hustle their butts off our there. Should be a big learning year for Beilein about what happens when you can't be the scrappy underdog.

We could win every game for the rest of the season and it would still not make me go back and rip them for the hand they were dealt in November and December.Last edited by Kstat; February 1, 2015, 02:47 PM.
