  • Bye bye Levert. Officially can stick a fork in them.

    • Yep. Here's to next year...

      • Fuck. I'd say that assures that he'll be back next year but that's a killer for right now.

        • Yeah.. unfortunately this ends any chance of Michigan being competitive the rest of the way. They could "luck" their way into the NIT, but this season ended yesterday.

Oh well, .. on to spring football!!

          • Oh geez. Good luck to LeVert rehabbing, and hopefully we do end up seeing him next year, although who knows? He submitted his name for evaluation last year, and might again this year. A senior LeVert would be great though.

Overall, good riddance to this crap season. It'll be interesting to see who wants to fight and who's ready to fold, but bring on the humiliating beatdowns. We know they're coming, and maybe some lessons will be learned about what happens when you ignore effort and physicality. None of the three guys who saw time at C yesterday pulled down a defensive rebound. Sick, sick, sick. Lots of blame to go around but IMO the coaching staff really blew it with this year's group. No reason Donnal can't be leveraged on a pick-and-pop -- he's had a season and a half in the program already. Nobody took the sophomore leap and the effort level was at the lowest I've seen it ever since the team became talented enough to think it didn't have to be scrappy anymore. It really bothers me that they bother with who gets the rebound (Walton preferred to the bigs) but maybe walk before you can run by not getting owned on the glass.

            • If Levert still has a 1st round grade, I hope he declares and makes his money.
Go while your stock is high... cuz another injury like this as a senior would drop him to a 2nd round pick at his age.

              • It's the same foot, so, yeah -- if he's comfortably a first-round pick you go get that money now. But I don't know that I'd do it without a promise.

                • LaVert's NBA concern last season was his skinny frame, turnovers and durability. He's done nothing to move himself into the first round.

                  • LOL at the lineups JB is throwing out there tonight. Dakich burns his redshirt.

                    • Looks pretty ugly from Gamecast. How's the effort factor?

                      Comment

                      • Effort's been great. Mostly cause Irvin has been out last last 16 minutes with 2 fouls. Lot of walk ons have been in, so effort hasn't been a problem. Shot making has.

                        • Clearly. sub 30% from the floor.

Irvin = I don't get it. I don't blame him for being a bad passer, that's ok. But he had a rep in HS for wanting to guard the opponent's best wing, I recall reading more than once. But it's not just him. No surprise when a finesse team can't win ugly. But it's not that simple. Michigan has won ugly in the past two years.

                          • He's been puzzling to say the least this year.

                            • Whole team has been. Beilein's system leaves him little credibility for when he tells them to go out and be physical. I do agree with your point about confidence/leadership. A Beilein team needs a Novak or a Burke or a Nik. All of them different types of leaders, but none of the three types present this year.

                              • Like anything else, definitely not just one thing.

Better start to the 2nd half. Dawkins has looked good tonight. If he can ever develop an off the dribble game, he could be a good one.
