  • yes, I read that, now a low three, but was outstanding player at one tournament, and seems to be coming on. From Pickering Central. 6'4" or 6'5", but 7'0" with his hair.

    • Coach Beilein gets voted as the best offensive coach in College Basketball by his fellow coaches.

      • Lindy's picks Michigan Basketball to finish 5th in the B1G. Also, Spike shoots a ball:

Michigan is ranked 33rd in Lindy's upcoming preseason magazine and is picked fifth in the Big Ten. Spike Albrecht is back on the floor after hip surgeries this summer while Caris LeVert is the lone senior projected in the first round of the NBA Draft.

        • 5th would be a disappointment.

          • It's either that or stop calling Beilein an elite coach. I'm getting weary of the ``Beilein's awesome/If middle-of-the-pack that's still'' OK attitude. Can't have it both ways. Michigan is not about being a plucky underdog. Especially not when you have the guy who is supposedly the best offensive coach in the biz.

(unless it's ultimate proof that defense-first is the way to go anyways)

            • It's a great thing we've got the best offensive coach in the country. Maybe I wouldn't mind swapping him for the 10th-best defensive coach in the country? We'll see.

Honestly, I think we'll get a repeat of the '13 season. Different mix of players, but same result: I think we'll get beat up in the Big Ten, end up a 3rd or 4th seed, then look refreshed and renewed in the tournament and end up in the FF.

              • Hack is going to continue banging on the defense over offense drum but its clear the path U of M basketball has chosen. Embrace Beilein!

                • That's all very true! And I've got a pretty good reason to. But Beilein's system ends up being a boom-bust proposition, and this is going to be a boom year.

                  • Hard not to embrace a coach who has done as well as Beilein. Why would you not?

                    • This is going to be a really good M basketball team this season. They aren't near as talented as Burke's, McGary's, Hardaway's squad but they have a good deal of upperclassmen that run JB's offense superbly (when healthy).

                      • If the bigs give Jordan Morgan level defense and catch and finishing, the sky's the limit. Might be a lot to ask, but I don't think so.

Good question! If only there were a way to find out. What about if there were somewhere on the Internet that could house a written record of the opinions we've shared with each other in the past? That would be great.
