  • If Michigan can find a way to get Dawson in foul trouble on Sunday, that team is entirely beatable. He's the only really scary one, although they do have so beef in Costello and Schilling. At least they aren't 7-footers.

    • If Walton plays Michigan will have more talent on the court than MSU. Respect due to Izzo. He's got shit on a stick this year, is well on the right side of the bubble, and nobody's gushing about what a genius he is.

Agreed about Dawson. Especially since he missed the games last year, he'll be foaming at the mouth. Common sense says go right at him. Maybe work pick and rolls with Rakhman and Dawson's man, and see if you can get the switch. Or maybe ignore that and just pass the ball around the perimeter for a while and never try to get to the foul line. Hard to know what's better. Seriously though, Max. If Max can get a body on Dawson he can neutralize him.

      • Trice scares me more than anyone else besides Dawson. If he gets it rolling it's over, because we won't be scoring more than 55pts or so.

        • Trice is a great example of the four-year guys Michigan doesn't have this year. Good for him for putting it together and stepping up when it was his turn.

          • Michigan has a better conference record (6-3) than the #4 team (Duke 4-3)

            • January 27th was two days ago, meaning we just celebrated the four-year anniversary of Douglass' three against Michigan State at the Breslin Center. And it can be argued that no Big Ten basketball program has been better than Michigan in the four years since Douglass drilled that shot. In that time frame, Michigan has won two Big Ten titles, won nine NCAA Tournament games, appeared in two Elite Eights, and made one trip to the Final Four. The only other Big Ten school that can compete is Ohio State, who has identical credentials the past four years.

What's amazing is how much more talent M had than OSU in that period. IMO Matta's the best coach in the league.

                • To be fair, the ACC did win he majority of the marquee matchups.

                  • are you suggesting Nebraska vs FSU was not marquee?

                          • No Walton or Donnal again and it took some bullshit calls against MAAR and Dawkins before spartie cut into and overtook Michigan's lead. If the zebras call things evenly in the 2nd half, the good guys may still pull off the upset.

                            • Massive push by Michigan in the 2nd half. They look crisp and confident. 5 point deficit into a 5 point lead.

                              • Awesome to see Spike drain a 3. When's the last time? If he stays hot...

Or if they can get Irvin going from 3. Give MAAR some spacing.

Either way, some defensive lapses but as long as they get back and force Sparty to score in the halfcourt. How sweet would a win here be? Would be awesome to just go in, play two walkons and win. In contrast to all the whining and excuses from Sparty about injuries last year.
