  • I luckily couldn't watch this game. Jeezus. Was EMU's zone THAT good? Confidence is a fragile thing and these guys have lost it. Guys just don't seem comfortable in their roles at all. Irvin has reverted back to his freshman year where he's just a catch and shoot guy now, not even attempting to drive. He's shot 2 FTs in 4 games.

Still plenty to play for, let's hope this 1 game in 10 day stretch let's JB does what he supposedly does best.

    • I am thinking happy thoughts based on the beatdown in East Lansing 2 years ago that they rebounded from, and last year's brutal December schedule that turned into a beautiful January and February. But confidence could be a problem.

      That zone was a fortress.

      • Congrats. M no longer has the worse loss amongst B10 teams!
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
        Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

              • The junior guard has been suffering from an unspecified lower-body injury sustained about a year ago, he explained Thursday. Though it hasn’t prevented Albrecht from playing, it could nag him throughout the rest of this season.

That may or may not make no sense at all.

Instead of choosing to operate on the injury during the offseason, Albrecht opted to “delay it and do as best he can with it this year,” Beilein explained. However, surgery is an option the guard will revisit after the season ends.

I had 2nd row seats for this one. In the first half, Michigan missed a lot of open shots and in the 2nd, EMU didn't give up many good looks. It seemed like Michigan took a different approach to beating the zone than they did vs. Syracuse and Ricky Doyle has not maintained his level of play from 2 weeks ago. Same with Spike, Chatman and Irvin.

This struggle can almost be erased with an upset of Arizona today. I'm certainly not counting on it but Michigan is capable of doing so.

                  • Gonna have to show some interest in defending at some point.

                    • This is the worst shooting team of pure shooters ever assembled.

                      • The effort today is really alarming. Beilein's got to earn his money now.

                            • I'm not as concerned about the basketball team as I am about the football team.

I think Beilein is doing a fine job, and will have these guys whipped into shape before too long. Its not time to panic.

                              • The conference was probably never in play no matter how well this team develops. Wisconsin is a juggernaut this year. What WAS in play was another season good enough for a 4 seed and a bracket favorable enough to get to the second weekend of the tournament. This should be a solid #15-#25 team. They're gonna have to get their heads out of their asses to get it done. SMU's coming in a week and will probably be a tough out. I agree with Liney -- Beilein's won the right to get the benefit of the doubt.
