  • M doesn't have anyone down low that can defend one of them, let alone 2-3 of them.

    • Got smoked by 17. Not a good look for a team on the edge of the bubble.

      • Well, forming a roster where SFs (Donnal, Doyle) have to play the 5 and guards (Irvin) have to play the 4 should probably create this result vs Purdue.

Tomorrow's selection show will be fun to watch.

            For some teams, yes.

For Michigan, they may as well plan on doing something else. They aren't going.

The NIT will give them a call after the show.

            Which is what they deserve.

            • I'll probably be wrong and they'll end up in the NIT but I kinda think the committee will let them squeak into one of the play-in games

Entering today only 12 teams in the entire country have four or more wins against the RPI top 25. Michigan is just outside that group with four top 26 RPI wins (#26 is Texas). And then when you add in the 22 wins on the season along with an above .500 showing in the Big Ten (albeit just barely), I would think that would be enough.

              • They'll get in, other bubble teams had much softer schedules as M played a ton of tournament teams. Of course they were exposed most those games but most other bubble teams played far fewer tourney caliber competition.

                • Michigan is in, as I thought they would be. Play in game vs Tulsa.
                  Possible matchup vs ND.

                  • As far as I am concerned, they aren't really in unless they make the field of 64.

                    • It's not a field of 64 anymore.

                      • First Four doesn't count, IMO. Beat Tulsa THEN they're in the tournament. They have an audition.

Hey, Tulsa doesn't have any tall guys do they?

                        • Objectively speaking, Michigan is "IN" the NCAA Tournament according to the definition of the competition. Michigan has tougher odds with an extra game.

Yes, Tulsa's tallest player is 6-9. They are not a tall team.

I don't care. To compare apples to historical apples, they are not in the tournament yet.

                            • No they're not "in" yet technically, but they're not out of it, either. Like say South Carolina, or any of the other bubble teams that didn't make the cut. It's over for them. For us it's not. We can play our way into the real field of 64 by Wednesday night.

I'll take it over the alternative.

                              • By the way did y'all see what's his face on CBS blasting how we got in? Said we feasted on bad Big Ten teams and didn't deserve to be in. Was Maryland a bad Big Ten team? Was Purdue? Was Indiana?

I mean I kinda get what he's saying to an extent, but it was pretty convenient of him to act like those wins I listed above didn't even happen.
